Google kuvahausta voi kätevästi havaita kuinka naista sanotaan kauniiksi ja söpöksi, mutta naisesta on myös tehty japanilaistyylisiä piirroksia ja humoristisia kuvia. Onhan nainen omastakin mielestäni kaunis ja hänellä näyttäisi olevan kauneustutkimusten mukainen ulkonäkö.
Tällä en kuitenkaan tarkoita, että kaikkien naisten tulisi tältä naiselta näyttää vaan tarkastelen suurin piirtein ulkonäköä ja tässä on tietenkin kyse eurooppalaisen naisen kauneudesta, eikä siksi esim. aasialaisen naisen tarvitse eurooppalaiselta naiselta näyttää ollakseen kaunis vaan aasialaiset naiset ovat omalla tavalla erittäin kauniita.
Naistutkijoille taitaa tästä tulla mieleen naisten seksuaalistaminen ja ulkonäkö, jolla on vaikutusta naisen elämässä. Onhan tässä myös näitä erikoisia stereotypioita kuinka blondit naiset ovat jotenkin tyhmiä vaikkei tällä naisella täysin vaaleita hiuksia näytä olevan. Ei tällaiset yleistykset taida täysin tyhjästä syntyä vaan varmaan osa blondeista naisista on ollut jotenkin hölmöjä, jonka takia sitten on syntynyt yleistyksiä vaikka lopulta yleistäjä on itse tyhmä.
Alhaalla näkyy tiettävästi Leonardo da Vinci:in näkemys kuinka tulee huomioida muiden ihmisten näkemys kauneudesta, eikä tuoda esille omaa näkemystä vaikka voihan omassa taiteessa tietenkin tuoda sitä esille, mutta jos tätä valtionsyyttäjää pidetään yleisesti kauniina ja varsinkin söpönä, niin tämä kertoo jotain naisen ulkonäöstä ja sitä voidaan tutkia.

Nataliaan liittyen tulee mieleen kuinka tutkimusten mukaan hyvästä ulkonäöstä on paljon hyötyä elämässä, että onko se osaltaan syynä naisen nykyiseen asemaan. Toisaalta onhan kauneudesta jotain haittaa varsinkin näiden stereotypioiden takia, että onko kaunis nainen ulkonäön perusteella pätevä työhön, mutta enemmän kuitenkin hyötyä.
Sellaista tässä myös pohdiskelin, että kun meillä nykyään on johtavissa asemissa naisia, niin varsinkin sinkkunaisten osalta voi kohdistua syrjintää kaunista naista kohtaan, jos naispuolinen työnantaja ei halua naisen tulevan kilpailemaan työpaikalla olevien sanotaanko komeiden sinkkumiesten suosiosta.

Olen kertonut kuinka kauneudessa on kyse monista tekijöistä, kuten esim. osaltaan symmetriasta, normaalilta eli keskimääräiseltä vaikuttavasta ulkonäöstä, terveydestä ja naisella tietenkin vähän söpöistä kasvoista.
Alla voidaan nähdä pahasta sairaudesta kärsivä Lizzie Velásquez ja vaikka tyypilliseen tapaan voidaan alla havaita bellagirl714 nimimerkkiä käyttävän naisen kehuvan ulkonäköä, niin valitettavasti tämä ulkonäkö ei miellytä suurta osaa ihmisistä, eikä edes suvaitsevaisia, mutta jos suvaitsevainen väittää muuta voidaan vaikka käyttää aivotutkimusta ja tarkistaa valehteleeko suvaitsevainen.
Ei tässä tietenkään pidä alkaa ketään loukkaamaan sanomalla rumaksi vaikka näin voin itsekin tehdä, koska teen kauneustutkimusta, mutta en minä kenellekään ala sanomaan suoraan pahasti. Stop trying to start something. Someone can think someone is pretty, even beautiful, and not want to look like them. I, for one, think Angelina Jolie is pretty, but I don't want to switch bodies with her. Also, Bellagirl can think that Lizzie's personality is lovely. Lizzie has been through so much, and continues to persevere and be such a kind soul. And I think everyone wants to be beautiful in that way.

Nancy Friday sees the issue of feminine beauty from a completely different viewpoint. In her opinion, the problems connected to beauty are not caused by the patriarchal society or the culture. She sees women themselves as the true problem. Friday (1996, 50–51) believes that women do not strive towards feminine beauty because of men but because of other women.
I agree with Friday in that women do not dress only for the men, but also for other women. Women do criticise and scrutinise each other. They judge other women on how close they have been able to come to achieving the beauty ideal. This is also a source of jealousy for women and it causes them to compete with each other. This behaviour could be explained by the expectations of beauty that are placed on women.
If a woman’s worth is determined by her looks, the competition between women takes the form of a beauty contest. Another interesting aspect is that while women envy other beautiful women, they also admire them. They copy their styles and they look up to them. Yet, in the end, another woman is often seen as the enemy that has to be defeated in the race to the top of the pyramid.

Another aspect of the requirement of feminine beauty can be found in biology. In the animal world, there exists a pressure to pass the best genes onto the next generation. This is often achieved through the animals representing their reproductive fitness in their colourful displays, their health and their strength (Hamermesh, 2011, 131).
Some scientists have claimed that these requirements of biology are also behind the image of the ideal woman as being young and beautiful. At least in previous times, our looks gave some indication of our health. These attitudes do not change for the attractive adults either. Beautiful adults are less likely to be suspected of crimes and they are also less likely to be penalized. Tässä on jo paljon sellaista, joka ei liity varsinaisesti otsikkoon, mutta toisaalta tässä voi aina tarkastella vaikka katsomalla alla olevaa naista ja verrata häntä Nataliaan. Kuten aiemmin totesin, niin ei tietenkään eurooppalaisen ja aasialaisen tarvitse olla ulkonäöltään täysin samanlaisia ollakseen kauniita, mutta kauneudessa on kuitenkin paljon samankaltaisuutta.

Alla olevalla thainaisella on nähdäkseni vähän eurokeskiset kasvot, että onko joku eurooppalainen mies mennyt tekemään lapsen thainaisen kanssa tai tässä vaan on kyse samankaltaisuudesta, koska ei kaikilla aasialaisilla ole selvästi aasialaista ulkonäköä.
Toisaalta nenän ja silmien osalta tehdään myös Thaimaassa paljon kauneusleikkauksia, joka sitten tekee kasvoista helposti eurokeskisemmän tai eurasialaisemman.
